The adoption of the Action Plan on Unaccompanied Minors (2010-2014) from the European Commission reveals renewed attention to the presence of unaccompanied minors in the European Member States, as well as a commitment to defining common EU policies for their protection.
With regard to Italy, in 2008 the number of unaccompanied minors reached a considerable peak. In this context, in the same year, the National Program for the protection of unaccompanied foreign minors was promoted and financed by the Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and realized by ANCI - the National Association of Italian Municipalities, currently in its second phase of activities. The National Programme supports local authorities, which are responsible by law for the reception of minors and protection, through the creation of a National System that enables the burden to be shared between central administration and local authorities and defines standardized and suitable procedures for the protection of unaccompanied minors.
In this framework, ANCI IDEALI is pleased to invite to the conference « Territorial networks for the protection of unaccompanied foreign minors. The Italian experience in the European perspective», which will be held at the Committee of the Regions, 101 rue Belliard, room JDE53, on July 14th. Please, fill the registration form you find below and send it before 8th July.
