Migrant Workers North West with the support of North West Development Agency, Communities & Local Government Migratory Impact Fund hosts its annual conference on Migration Works. The event takes place at the International Slavery Museum, Albert Dock, in Liverpool.
The Conference also aims to discuss key issues related to:
- developing local authorities policies on the employment of migrant workes;
- developing community migration partnerships to improve social cohesion;
- developing union strategies on migrants in the workforce.
Delegates are also given the opportunity to debate the Conclusions Section of the new Migrant Workers North West “Migration Works” Booklet.

The IV Integrating Cities Conference 2010
takes place in London’s City Hall. The Integrating Cities conference series is based on a partnership between EUROCITIES and the European Commission, DG Justice, Freedom and Security, to promote the implementation of the Common Basic Principles on Integration through a dialogue between politicians from Europe’s major cities with EU
policymakers. The IV Integrating Cities Conference 2010 brings together European Mayors, service providers,
academics, refugee and migrant communities and private sector organisations from across Europe to build a
shared vision for the integration of migrants in urban areas. During the conference the European City Charter on promoting equalities and integration of migrants is launched.
This event is part of the Diversity and Equality in European Cities (DIVE) project co-financed by the European
Commission, DG Justice, Freedom and Security, through the European Integration Fund.

The ERLAI Network welcomes the participation of local and regional authorities, European institutions officials and representatives of the civil society and encourages the debate and the exchange of good practices on Health and Migration.
The Seminar offers the opportunity of analyzing and discussing the “inequality in health” issue and sets the context of future feasible actions to be taken in this respect, as it foresees the participation of European Institutions and regional authorities willing to present their points of view and specific experiences.
In particular, the seminar intends to:
- discuss the role of Regional Authorities in public health and access to health services to migrants;
- help in improving the exchange of information and knowledge among the stakeholders and identify specific actions towards vulnerable groups;
- share experiences in coordination of policies and makes examples of effective partnerships with strategic actors aiming at improving health conditions for marginalized groups;
- show how to better use Cohesion Policy and related structural funds to promote initiatives in favour of health conditions of vulnerable groups;
- raise awareness and promote actions at different levels of governance.
