Membership currently includes around 30 regions and local authorities from 8 EU member states with an interest in immigration and asylum.
REGIOEUROPA is an association of European regional and local authorities, legal and natural entities. It has existed since May 2002 as a non-profit association located in Brussels and aims to assist regional and local authorities in meeting the demands of a modern regional policy with a European dimension.

The Local Union of Municipalities and Communities of Attica (T.E.D.K.N.A.), an association of local public authorities, is comprised of 102 municipalities and 20 communities within the boundaries of the Attica region and the islands of the Argo-Saronic Gulf along with the islands of Kithira and Antikithira. TEDKNA represents 4.5 million citizens, most of who live in Athens, in the port city of Piraeus and on the coast of Attica. The tertiary sector in Attica makes up 77.7% of the GDP, whilst 35% of the country’s entrepreneurs are to be found in the Attica region. The development planning of Attica focuses mainly on the cultural heritage, economic growth, employment and improvement of the region’s infrastructure, as well as on the social integration of the immigrants.
